ANA Check-In: Online, Mobile App & Airport — Times & Deadlines

ANA lets you check in online or via the ANA app starting 24 hours before departure. Do it early: once that window closes, you must use an airport counter or kiosk, which closes much sooner.

Online and App Check-In

Go to ana.co.jp or open the ANA app (iOS / Android). Both work identically: log in with your booking reference or ANA Mileage Club number, select your flight, confirm your seat, and download or save your boarding pass.

Key points:

• Opens: exactly 24 hours before your scheduled departure.
• Closes (international): 75 minutes before departure.
• Closes (domestic): 20 minutes before departure.
• After online check-in you still need to drop checked bags at the airport baggage counter before its own cut-off (see table above).
• As of May 19, 2026, ANA merged its domestic and international passenger service systems. Online check-in for both flight types now uses the same page and process on the website and app.

Airport Check-In: Counters and Kiosks

If you miss online check-in, or if you have a complex itinerary, head to the airport check-in counter.

International flights (Tokyo Haneda Terminal 3, Narita Terminal 1)

Counters open 3 hours before departure and close 60 minutes before departure. At Haneda, the counters officially open 3 h 30 min before departure for some routes. Baggage drop also closes at the 60-minute mark, so build in time if your bags are heavy or oversized.

Domestic flights

Counters open 2 hours before and close 30 minutes before departure. Self-service kiosks at major Japanese airports (Haneda, Narita, Itami, Fukuoka, Sapporo) allow check-in and bag tag printing and typically close 30 minutes before departure as well.

What Happens at the Gate

Boarding starts 25 minutes before departure and the gate closes 10 minutes before. ANA is strict about gate closure, especially on domestic routes where turn-around times are tight. If the display reads "Final Call", stop queuing for coffee.

ANA uses a zone-based boarding order: business class and premium economy board first, followed by economy zones in sequence. Your boarding pass shows your zone.

Checked-Bag Cut-Off

Dropping bags is a separate step from checking in. Even if you checked in online 12 hours ago, your bag must reach the belt before:

• International: 60 minutes before departure.
• Domestic: 30 minutes before departure.

Late bags are refused. There is no fee to check in at the airport versus online, but bags refused at the counter because of a missed cut-off may require rebooking at your own cost.
